Purpose of the document is the identification of a shared pathway of assessment and improvement of the sustainability of the wine production for the whole Italian wine sector which is a strategic point to the wine industry. The achievement of this goal, however, requires verification of what has been done. This document wishes to meet this need and it aims to initiate a verification of what has been already done with the intent to understand, in particular, how the existent experiences may allow a model for Italian wine sustainability according to the recommendations made by the policy paper "Vision on the sustainable future of our wine and vineyards".
