Sustainable Winegrowing Summit, Valpolicella Verona, Italy

Short description:

Olga Bussinello, the Director of Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella:"Excellence in vineyards is the aim of our Consorzio, and it goes through environmental sustainability and wealth of the territory. This is the orientation of the “RRR – Reduce, Respect, Retrench” programme, which certifies companies’ respect for the environment by adopting innovative and sustainable techniques in the vineyard and protection of the landscape. RRR’s now involving 125 companies and almost 1000 hectars of vineyards in Valpolicella. The new website of the RRR Certification is https://valpolicellarrr.com/.Our project is to build an international network between all the areas of the World, where to find ongoing sustainable winegrowing projects, similar to ours. A “Sustainable Winegrowing Summit” would set out the basis for this new network; it will be held in Valpolicella on February 2nd, 2018 in Verona (please, find attached your Invitation), and will focus on international sustainability issues, talking about all our experiences related to this topic. We already have involved speakers from Austria, Belgium, Australia, California, ecc. Once the network is built, our idea is to move the location of the Summit each year, changing the “host country”, but preserving the dialogue between certification bodies, industry experts and professionals.
